Amplex has acquired all the shares in AirBench Ltd, a leading British manufacturer of air purification systems. The acquisition includes AirBench’s entire business, including its head office in Colchester, England, and its metal workshop in Tollesbury. The seller is the company’s Managing Director Simon Cook and his family.
AirBench Ltd was founded in 1993 under the name WorkPoint Environments Ltd and changed its name to AirBench in 2012. The company has established itself as a key player in the British air purification industry with a wide range of products that effectively capture, contain and filter dust and fumes from the working environment. Its products include downdraught benches, cross-draught systems, coolant mist filters and air cleaning systems, all manufactured at its own facility in Colchester. The company has a turnover of approximately £6.5 million (approximately SEK 80 million) and employs a total of 23 people.
‘We are delighted to welcome AirBench to the Amplex family,’ says Henrik Johansson, Head of Amplex’s Industrial business area. ‘Their unique products and strong market position in the UK will strengthen our growing business in industrial filters and air purification.’
The Managing Director and former principal owner Simon Cook will continue to lead the business following the acquisition. ‘This is a fantastic opportunity for us to grow and develop within a larger group that strongly believes in the power of good business acumen,’ says Simon Cook. ‘We look forward to benefiting from Amplex’s experience, tools and network to further improve our products and services.’
